UPDATE: All appointments scheduled in the week between 24 and 29 February are suspended due to the order issued by the Ministry of Health
Masks, games and lots of fun: this is what awaits children on the occasion of the next Carnival celebrations in Bra. The appointment for the little ones is for the afternoon of Saturday 22 February 2020 at the Movicentro in Piazza Caduti in Nassiriya, for the first time the venue for the party. A rich program of initiatives awaits the children (with free admission) which will last from 14 to 20: it begins with the workshops that will deal with the creation of Carnival masks, perhaps using recycled elements, to go to the puppet show on Giuseppe Potenza's Harlequin; and also make-up for children (by Maria Ielapi, of the "inverse tree" association and of the tourist section of the Velso Mucci Institute), distribution of sweets, the performance of clowneries "Bingo clown show" and the big party with baby dance .
But the Bra Carnival is also celebrated inside museums. Thus, on the morning of Saturday 22 February the monthly appointment dedicated to families at the Toy Museum is renewed. From 9.30 to 12 children and parents will have the opportunity to try their hand at the board games offered by the Ludica Order of the Rock Association. The following day, Sunday 23 February (starting at 15,30), the Toy Museum will instead host the traditional Carnival party for children with lots of entertainment. The best masks self-produced by the participants in the party will be awarded. Both events are free admission.
In the same afternoon, young and old will be offered the opportunity to discover the collection of the Toy Museum through exciting animated visits: some students coordinated by the Stregatocacolor Association will be able to animate the toys on display, which will thus be able to tell their own story. Animated visits for families are offered only at 15,30 and 17. Admission is free for children under six years, for over 65s and for those with a museum pass; it costs 2 euros between 6 and 14 years and 3 euros for adults. For those who wish to participate in the "traditional" visit, the usual Sunday morning appointment remains from 10.30 to 12.30.
But the Carnival does not stop there: this year too the offer of the Museum of Archeology, History and Art of Palazzo Traversa is renewed, offering students on holiday from school two mornings in the name of creativity. The appointments, reserved for children aged between 6 and 12, are scheduled for Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 February from 9 to 12,30 (with the possibility of pre-entry at 8,30). The title of the workshop on Monday 24 February is "Matti hair and mad hatters" and will see the young participants engaged in creating fantastic hats and fun hairstyles to be used for Carnival disguises. The next day will be the turn of "Il Carnevale di Mirò": it is a group work inspired by the well-known artist. The cost of participation in each workshop is € 5 per morning with reservations required on 0172-423880. More info on www.turismoinbra.it. (Rb)
